Luke 6:45 NIV
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
I would like to share a life experience. I grew up with an alcoholic mom and a dad with PTSD. The house was full of anger, verbal and physical abuse.
By the time I was placed in foster care, the damage was done. I was an angry kid, wanting revenge on society for being alive.
Obviously, the example of a bad life made my heart evil.
Today I write, to show a Godly character can provide solace in times of need.
I have heard similar stories from different generations. People say, My life would be different if I wasn’t raised badly.
i have seen Godly changes first hand. In prisons, rehabs and youth authority programs. So when a person say it’s too difficult, it means they are not ready to change. Say this, Lord I’m excited for your transformation.
Don’t blame society, for your choices. Yes, you have a choice. Don’t allow demonic influences tell you otherwise.
Change comes from you first. God gave you free will, so your permission is needed. You CAN overcome by the blood of the lamb..
Again, many Christians that have replaced evil habits.
So put your foot down, be exhausted of the old life. A bad life goes in circles and you only find grief.
Gods way, provides love and peace.
God accepts your past, so move towards Jesus. Say to God, I choose you and desire transformation. Yes, worth repeating.
Here’s a thought, many Christians desire to fit into society. Hold yourself to a higher standard. God’s standard. Try, fail and try again. You won’t be disappointed.
Christ was a misfit, rejected and ridiculed. So it will be your experience also.
John 17:16; They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 15:18; If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
Even in ministry school, people laughed at me. Even in a room full of Christians, I didn’t fit in. Get used to it, and pray.
Galatians 5:22, 23; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
My pastor teaches, Whatever spiritual fruit you lack, ask for it, then dedicate it to the Lord. Then give it to your neighbors. I lack all the fruits of the spirit, so I work on this daily.
Be open and exam yourself.
Matt 5:44; But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
i have many friends, yet I test their character. Using the holy spirits’ discernment, will save you trouble.
people who stick with you in good and bad times are reliable. You can trust them like blood relatives. Most of my friends ran from me, during my tribulations. Yet they are still friends, but we only have surface conversations.
i want to be clear, many people talk about their problems. Listen and pray for them. It is important that you guard your heart. It is easy to fall into the traps of the world.
Don’t forget to read the Bible daily. The word will defend your heart and mind. I recommend the book of John, as a start.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!
